Here’s an interesting one – it looks like Lexus Malaysia could be gearing up to introduce the 2025 Lexus LX locally, as spyshots of the luxury SUV have surfaced.
According to an anonymous reader, three units of the 2025 Lexus LX were spotted along the NKVE, all on trailers and covered-up.
How certain are we that it’s the 2025 Lexus LX? Several tell-tale signs give it away.
The most obvious is the front end – one particular front three-quarter angle provided by the reader matches the Lexus LX’s profile. Another detail is the wheels, which resemble the LX’s 22-inch forged alloy wheels with machined finish. Additionally, the Lexus logo can clearly be seen in one of the photos.
What is the 2025 Lexus LX?
The fourth-generation Lexus LX, codenamed J310, can be seen as the more premium sibling to the J300-generation Toyota Land Cruiser. Built on the GA-F platform, it debuted in October 2021, a few months after the Land Cruiser.
Globally, the Lexus LX is offered with several powertrains:
- LX600 – Twin-turbo 3.4-litre V6 petrol with 414 PS and 650 Nm from 2,000 to 3,600 rpm
- LX700h – Twin-turbo 3.4-litre V6 petrol-electric hybrid with 464 PS and 790 Nm from 2,000 to 3,600 rpm
- LX500d – Twin-turbo 3.3-litre V6 diesel with 309 PS and 700 Nm from 1,600 to 2,600 rpm
All variants are paired with a 10-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive (4WD).
Inside, the 2025 Lexus LX offers a wide range of upholstery choices, including Black, Sun Flare, Crimson, White & Dark Sepia, and Hazel.
A 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes standard, with a seven-inch touchscreen display for the climate controls nestled beneath it. There’s also a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver.
Depending on market, audio is handled by either a Lexus Premium sound system or a 25-speaker Mark Levinson setup.
Customers can also choose between 5-, 7-, or ultra-luxurious 4-seater configuration, though not all markets have the option for all three seating configuration.
When will the 2025 Lexus LX launch in Malaysia?
Indonesia recently introduced the 2025 Lexus LX, offering two variants powered by the petrol-electric hybrid engine, with a choice between 7- and 4-seat layouts.
In the archipelago, prices of the 2025 Lexus LX start at IDR 3.3 million (~RM 832k) for the 7-seater variant (LX700h), while the 4-seater variant (LX700h VIP) is priced at IDR 3.9 million (~RM 983k).
Here in Malaysia, the LX has been available for some time through recond dealers, but the sighting of covered test units strongly suggests an official launch is imminent.
After all, Lexus Malaysia used to offer the previous J200-generation LX, priced from an eye-watering RM 1.226 million back in 2020.
Stay tuned for more updates.
