This is it, Motor Image Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country, has just launched the all-new 2026 Subaru Forester.
Overview
For the Malaysian market, only one variant will be offered – 2.5i-S EyeSight. Codenamed SL, the sixth-generation Subaru Forester takes over from where the previous SK generation left off.
While the 2026 Subaru Forester continues to be fully-imported (CBU) as before, sourcing has now switched to Japan.
Compared to the SK-generation Forester (top-spec GT variant), the all-new SL-generation model is 17.33% more, coming in at RM 221,500 (OTR, without insurance).

Exterior
Lighting on the all-new 2026 Subaru Forester are now LED-illuminated, including the daytime running lights (DRLs), headlights, cornering lights, front and rear fog lights, as well as the tail lights.
Other exterior bits include 18-inch aluminium-alloy wheels, low-profile roof rails, and various body cladding.
The all-new 2026 Subaru Forester measures 4,655 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, 1,730 mm tall, with a 2,670 mm wheelbase.
A total of 11 colours are offered on the Forester, including Autumn Green Metallic, Brilliant Bronze Metallic, Cashmere Gold Opal, Crimson Red Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, Crystal White Pearl, Daybreak Blue Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Grey Metallic, River Rock Pearl, and Sapphire Blue Pearl.
Interior
The 2026 Subaru Forester is well-equipped on the inside as well, offering equipment such as a large 11.6-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-speaker audio system, and a wireless charging pad.

Leather is also used throughout the cabin, such as the steering wheel, gear shift knob, and seats. Customers can opt between two seat materials: Black Leather or Brown Leather – the latter swaps the seat back to brown colour, whilst maintaining the same black seat trim.
Powertrain
For the first-time ever, Motor Image Malaysia is offering the largest engine fitted to a non-XT Subaru Forester (the SH-generation XT offered a 2.5L turbo).
Codenamed FB25, this naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine does 185 PS and 247 Nm of torque, which is mated to Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT. As with most Subaru models, drive is sent to all four wheels via the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system with Dual X-Mode.

As standard, the 2026 Subaru Forester comes equipped with the EyeSight 4.0 ADAS suite (now with 3 cameras), comprising of features like:
