New 2026 Mazda BT-50 facelift launched in Malaysia: Hilux rival now priced from RM 140,418

Alongside the new 2026 Mazda 3 1.5L High Plus, Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd has also introduced the new 2026 Mazda BT-50 facelift in Malaysia.

The facelifted BT-50 made its global debut back in October 2024, bringing with it some noteworthy improvements.

Overview

Similar to the pre-facelift model, the updated 2026 Mazda BT-50 continues to be a fully-imported (CBU) model from Thailand.

Unlike the pre-facelift model which spanned across five variants, Bermaz has trimmed the BT-50 line-up to a sole 3.0 High Plus variant. The sold BT-50 3.0 High Plus variant is priced from RM 140,418 (on-the-road, without insurance).

Exterior

In-line with its Mazda siblings, the facelifted BT-50 gets a revised front fascia, comprising of a new pair of LED headlights, reprofiled bumper, and redesigned grille – the latter now with blocky inserts, not too dissimilar from the Mazda CX-5 facelift.

Towards the rear-end are a set of redesigned LED tail lights.

Rounding off the updated exterior are a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 265/60R18 tyres.

Color options of the new 2026 Mazda BT-50 include Concrete Gray Mica, Geode White Pearl, Sailing Blue Mica, True Black Mica, and Vermillion Latosol Mica. It doesn’t seem like we will be getting the signature Red Earth Metallic that other markets receive.

Interior

At a glance, the cabin of the facelifted 2026 Mazda BT-50 is largely identical as before, though there’s now a new 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster.

The 9.0-inch infotainment is also new, now with a pair of physical knobs for audio control, with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition to that, the USB-A ports now make way for a pair of USB-C ports.

Powertrain

The new 2026 Mazda BT-50 continues to soldier on with the same turbodiesel 3.0-litre unit that outputs 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque between 1,600 rpm to 2,600 rpm. Said engine is shared with the Isuzu D-Max and is hooked up to a six-speed automatic transmission, that sends power to all four wheels via a 4WD system.

Equipment

Standard equipment on the new 2026 Mazda BT-50 3.0 High Plus include:

Safety and Technology

Safety-wise, the 2026 Mazda BT-50 carries over the same equipment from the pre-facelift predecessor, offering Automatic High Beam, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Auto Emergency Braking (AEB), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

Warranty and Aftersales

The 2026 Mazda BT-50 is backed by a 5-year / 100,000 km manufacturer warranty.
