Alongside the Mercedes-Benz GLC200, Mercedes-Benz also launched the new 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE400e 4Matic.

Like the GLC200, this new GLE400e 4Matic serves as a new entry-level variant for those shopping for a brand-new GLE.

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE400e 4Matic is priced from RM 498,888

Overview

As the e suffix in the name suggests, the GLE400e is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model.

The GLE400e is also locally-assembled (CKD) in Pekan, Pahang, just like the more expensive GLE450 4Matic.

The aforementioned price is on-the-road, without insurance.

Exterior

The exterior of the GLE400e gets the AMG Line exterior styling package, which adds AMG goodies like an AMG front apron with chrome trim elements, AMG side sill panels and wheel arch cladding in vehicle colour, and AMG rear apron with diffuser-look insert.

Up front are a pair of Multibeam LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, while the sides receive 21-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels.

Interior

Stepping inside and you get Artico man-made leather, while the multifunction steering wheel is wrapped in Nappa leather.

There’s a widescreen cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays that is powered by the second-generation Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) software, with built-in support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Audio is routed through a 13-speaker Burmester sound system.

Powertrain

The GLE400e gets a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine that delivers 252 PS and 400 Nm, which is supplemented by an electric motor that outputs 136 PS and 440 Nm.

Combined system output is 381 PS and 600 Nm of torque.

Similar to other Mercedes-Benz models, the transmission here is a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, paired to the 4Matic all-wheel drive system.

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE400e completes the century sprint in 6.1 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 210 km/h.

There’s a 31-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that can deliver up to 108 km (WLTP) of electric range. DC fast charging goes up to 60 kW, which gets the battery from 10% to 80% state-of-charge (SoC) in 29 minutes.

AC charging goes up to 11 kW, thus fully charging the 31-kWh battery pack takes 2.5 hours.
