Perodua Traz / Nexis teased: D66B B-SUV launching soon?

It seems like Perodua’s 2025 launches haven’t concluded, as the car maker recently teased their upcoming mode that’s codenamed D66B.

The codename may not mean much to most Malaysians, but word on the street is that the D66B could be called the Perodua Traz when it goes on sale. The Traz (and Nexis) nameplates were registered by Perodua way back in May 2022.

What is the D66B Perodua Traz / Nexis?

TH-spec Yaris Cross shown

The Perodua Traz / Nexis is a B-segment SUV that will share a lot of parts with the Toyota Yaris Cross, including the DNGA-B platform. This mirrors a similar arrangement that’s seen with the Perodua Alza and Toyota Veloz, as well as Perodua Aruz and Toyota Rush.

Powertrain options for the Toyota Yaris Cross include a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that does 106 PS and 138 Nm and a petrol-electric hybrid with a combined output of 111 PS.

It remains to be seen if the Perodua Traz / Nexis would be the first hybrid offering from Perodua.

According to the teaser, we have a brief glimpse of the model’s front grille with L-shaped motifs, similar to the one found on the Perodua Alza. The teaser also shows off the Traz’s red body colour.

Furthermore, the short teaser also briefly shows the side profile of the Perodua Traz / Nexis, also finished in a share of red.

Now that Perodua has finally acknowledged the existence of the Traz / Nexis, we just need to strap in for the official launch.
