Today marks a momentous moment for Kia, as the South Korean marque is now under a new principle-led model – mirroring sister brand Hyundai.
This move also sees the creation of Kia Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd (KSM), in which Kia is in full control to lead the brand’s presence, marketing, sales, customer experience, and training across the country. Malaysia is also set to be the regional hub for the ASEAN region.
Furthermore, Kia will further enhance the Kia dealer network, invest in aftersales services, as well as preparing for new model launches.
KSM’s National Sales Organisation is led by President and CEO Hyung Ho Kim and Managing Director Emily Lek, alongside a senior management team including Hafiz Zaim (Government Relations and Product Director), Victor Chan (General Manager, Sales), Rafhan Saiah (General Manager, Ownership), Vince Yeoh (General Manager, Marketing), and Phang Chee Wei (General Manager, Channel).
Kia Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Emily Lek, said, “It is an extremely exciting time for us right now as we re-enter the Malaysian market as a stand-alone entity. No longer represented by a distributor, the brand is now led by the principal with full control over our voice, values and vision. With strong systems and a clear plan in place, we are ready to bring back the true Kia brand experience.”
What models are offered here?
KSM will offer a mix of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) models, including:
