Overview

Now in its sixth-generation, the C28-generation Nissan Serena brings with it several improvements, including reworked suspension geometry. But the highlight feature is the arrival of the e-Power powertrain on this family MPV.

Prices start from:

As part of the Early Bird promo, ETCM is offering a RM 5,000 rebate and an RM 8,000 accessories package rebate (Excluding X variant).

Exterior

Versus the swoopy lines on the front fascia of the C27-generation Serena, the new generation model adopts an X-shaped front fascia design that encompasses the headlight assembly and front grille assembly.

Air curtains are integrated into the lower edges of the front bumper, which Nissan claims is able to suppress leeward turbulence, thus improving stability in crosswinds. Said air curtains also help to keep the C28 Serena more planted on highways speeds.

In terms of colours, the C28 Nissan Serena is offered in:

Interior

Out goes the cluttered cabin of the C27-generation Serena, as the new C28-generation model offers a completely overhauled cabin.

Sitting in centrestage is a dual 12.3-inch digital display layout – one that serves as a digital driver display, and the other as the infotainment system. The latter runs on the Nissan Connect operating system and offers support for Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Audio is backed by a 4-speaker sound system on the X and X Plus variants, while Highway Star variants add a pair of tweeters, bringing the speaker count to 6.

Beneath the infotainment display is the C28 Nissan Serena’s climate control system, which houses both physical and touch-sensitive controls. The traditional gear lever-type shifter now makes way for a more futuristic-looking button-type shifter.

Being a family MPV, the 2026 C28 Nissan Serena also offers a roof-mounted rear entertainment monitor (X Plus, Premium Highway Star, Shiro Premium Highway Star variants), as well as 6 USB charging ports (Highway Star variants) and 15 cup holders (Highway Star variants) scattered throughout the cabin. Also scattered throughout the cabin are some Easter eggs.

As before, the Serena offers a 2-2-3 seating configuration, with no less than 13 seating and cargo configurations that can be achieved.

Powertrain

The 2026 C28 Nissan Serena is the second model after the Kicks to offer Nissan’s e-Power petrol-electric hybrid powertrain.

Its naturally-aspirated 1.4-litre HR14DDe petrol engine merely serves as an on-board generator for the front-mounted electric motor. The latter is the sole propulsion source of the C28 Serena, outputting 163 PS and 315 Nm, drawing power from a 1.77-kWh battery back fitted underneath the front seats.

According to ETCM, the 2026 C28 Nissan Serena is able to return up to 5.4 L/100 km (18.5 km/L) under the NEDC test cycle.
