The B-segment SUV space will soon heat up with yet another addition. This time around, this highly-competitive segment will welcome the 2026 Toyota Yaris Cross.
Not to be confused with the TNGA-B-based Yaris Cross, our ASEAN-spec Yaris Cross is developed on the DNGA-B architecture – same one that underpins the Perodua Traz and Perodua Alza.
The teaser image does reveal some small nuggets of information, like the 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels that’s also found on the Thai-spec Yaris Cross. Additionally, our Malaysian-spec cars also get door visors, differentiating itself from the Thai-spec cars.
For the Malaysian market, the Toyota Yaris Cross is a twin model to the recently-launched Perodua Traz – the latter was launched in late-2025 as Perodua’s latest B-segment SUV.

Similar to the Traz, the upcoming Toyota Yaris Cross will likely be contract manufactured by Perodua at its Rawang facility, mirroring the arrangement that was seen on the Perodua Aruz and Toyota Rush, as well as Perodua Alza and Toyota Veloz.
At this point of time, it remains to be seen which powertrain option will be offered on the Malaysian-spec Toyota Yaris Cross. Depending on market, the Yaris Cross can be had with a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain like the Vios HEV, or even a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre engine found in the Alza/Veloz.
