Proton has just launched the new 2026 Proton X50 in Trinidad and Tobago, marking the second export market after Brunei for Proton’s popular B-segment SUV. The launch of the Proton X50 in Trinidad and Tobago aligns with Proton’s ongoing global expansion. Last year, the company recorded an export sales volume of 6,000 units, representing its highest export level since the commencement of its partnership with Geely.
For this small Caribbean market, the 2026 Proton X50 is only offered in a sole 1.5TD Premium variant. The car is imported (CBU) from Malaysia.
Mirroring the Malaysian-spec car, units sold in Trinidad and Tobago gets the new 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 181 PS and 290 Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that drives the front wheels.
In terms of equipment, T&T’s X50 1.5TD Premium is largely identical to ours, offering:
