Beijing 2026: This is Geely’s Robotaxi called Eva Cab, infused with Chinese cultural elements

Everyone’s talking about Robotaxis now, from Tesla all the way to non-automotive brands like Baidu.

Now, Geely wants a slice of that pie too, with the debut of its robotaxi called Eva Cab.

The Hangzhou-based company said that they plan to roll out Eva Cab as soon as 2027, with large-scale deployment by 2028.

According to Geely, the Eva Cab features full-domain artificial intelligence (AI) 2.0 that drives the Geely G-ASD 4.0 intelligent driving system that enables Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities. Its G-ASD 4.0 is capable of end-to-end AI navigation, reducing the need for human intervention.

Mind you, G-ASD 4.0 will also be deployed to the larger Zhejiang Geely Holding (ZGH, the parent Geely company) group of companies models, including the Zeekr 9X, Zeekr 7X, Zeekr 009, and Zeekr 8X. This deployment is very likely restricted to China at the time of writing, as other counties have varying levels of allowing Level 4 autonomous driving.

Geely touted various high-end components that made it all possible, including the nVidia SuperChip, nVidia Thor U, as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 chip.

With that said, Geely’s Eva Cab won’t be restricted to just five mainland Chinese cities – they have mentioned that Eva Cab will be roaming the streets of Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong.

In line with other robotaxis, the Geely Eva Can features a lounge-like cabin with rotating seats. Geely also mentioned that the Eva Cab has features like Su Causeway Wood (苏堤木蕴) charming solid wood trim and Orchid Pavilion & Meandering Stream (兰亭曲水) floating console. There’s no steering wheel, by the way.
