After several spyshots and a few rounds of leaks, the new 2026 Honda City facelift finally goes live in India.
Overview
This marks the second facelift for the venerable Honda City, which was launched back in late-2019.
Compared to the first facelift, changes made to the B-segment model are far more comprehensive than before, covering both the exterior and interior of the car.
In India, the 2026 Honda City will be offered across four variants (SV, V, ZX, ZX+), spread across manual and CVT automatic transmissions. Additionally, the ZX+ is also available as an e:HEV hybrid.
Furthermore, Honda Thailand has opened its registration of interest (ROI) page for the new 2026 Honda City, signalling an imminent debut in the Kingdom.
Exterior
Up front is the biggest and most noticeable change, as Honda has given its B-segment model a full-width LED light bar, bringing this 7-year-old model into the modern day. Out goes the reflector LEDs on the outgoing City, as Honda has swapped those out for Bi-LED projector units.
The front bumper is also new, now with upward rake on each end, creating a menacing look.
While changes to the rear isn’t as drastic as the front, the new 2026 Honda City facelift also gets clear-type LED tail lights, as well as revised rear bumper.
A new set of 16-inch wheels complete the exterior of the refreshed Honda City.
Colour options for the Indian-market car includes Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, and Radiant Red Metallic.
Interior
Stepping into the cabin, and the biggest change you will notice is the floating-style 10.1-inch infotainment display, replacing the current model’s 8.0-inch unit. The Indian-spec cars also get ivory and black two-tone interior colour scheme.
Also new are the redesigned Active Front Ventilated Seats, ambient lighting, and rear USB-C charge ports.
Powertrain
Unchanged are the powertrain options – the Indian-market car continues to offer the naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 121 PS and 145 Nm, mated either to a CVT automatic or six-speed manual.
Then there’s also the Honda e:HEV petrol-electric hybrid system, with 126 PS and 253 Nm on tap.
Ditto that for the Thai-spec car, as it continues to offer the turbocharged three-pot and e:HEV hybrid. That said, Honda Thailand has rejigged the line-up, with the turbo being the entry-level variant (S), while the e:HEV make up the remaining three variants (e:HEV V, e:HEV SV, e:HEV RS).
Warranty & Aftersales
As standard, the 2026 Honda City facelift comes with a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty, though customers can opt for an Extended Warranty coverage that bumps it up to a 7-year, unlimited mileage plan.
The e:HEV ZX+ variant also gets an 8-year / 160,000 km lithium-ion battery warranty and 5-year / 100,000 km Hybrid System components warranty.
