SAIC Motor Malaysia has unveiled the local specifications of the new MG ZS compact SUV at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 (KLIMS 2026), which runs from 12 to 21 June 2026 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
The MG ZS will be offered in two variants, namely the LUX Hybrid+ and LUX Turbo. The turbo variant is set for a later introduction. Pricing and the full official specification sheet will be confirmed at a separate launch event.
The MG ZS Hybrid+ is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 100 kW (136 PS) electric motor and a 1.83kWh NCM battery, producing a combined output of 158kW and 465Nm of torque. Drive goes through a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), with SAIC claiming a 0–100km/h time of 8.7 seconds. Fuel range is rated at up to 870 km on a 41-litre tank. No plug-in charging is required.
The MG ZS measures 4,430 mm in length and 1,818 mm in width, which SAIC positions as the largest in the B-segment SUV class. Styling highlights include Connected Hunter Eyes headlights, black grille accents, rear LED taillights, a rear spoiler, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Four exterior colours are available: red, silver, black, and white, all paired with an all-black interior.
Inside, the MG ZS gets a 12.3-inch floating infotainment display alongside a digital instrument cluster. Boot space is 443 litres, expandable to 1,457 litres with the rear seats folded.
Safety and convenience kit is covered by MG PILOT ADAS 2.5 and the MG iSMART connected car system, which enables remote vehicle control and keyless entry via smartphone.
Customers who place a booking during KLIMS 2026 with a RM 99 fee will receive a RM 3,000 rebate and three years of complimentary maintenance.
Also at KLIMS 2026 is the Malaysian debut of IM (Intelligence in Motion), SAIC Motor’s premium sub-brand. The star of the IM showcase is the IM6, a D-segment all-electric SUV measuring 4,904mm in length and 1,988mm in width. The IM6 is rated for up to 600km of WLTP range, with outputs of 572kW and 802Nm of torque. The cabin features a panoramic glass roof and ultra-soft leather-style seating.
No pricing or launch timeline for the IM6 has been announced for Malaysia.
Separately, customers who book the MGS5 EV during KLIMS 2026 will receive a RM 7,000 instant rebate, a complimentary 7kW wall box charger (worth RM 2,000), and RM 1,000 in charging credits. The MGS5 EV is priced from RM 116,900.
Also on display at the SAIC Motor Malaysia booth are the MG HS Hybrid+, MG QS, and the MG Cyberster. Test drives of the MG ZS Hybrid+ and MGS5 EV are available at the show, with a complimentary coffee for anyone who takes a test drive.
