Changan Mazda has just released a teaser video for its upcoming model, the Mazda EZ-60. Following the Mazda EZ-6, the EZ-60 is expected to be an electric vehicle (EV), continuing Mazda’s push into China’s EV market.

The 20-second teaser doesn’t reveal much, but it does hint that the Mazda EZ-60 will share a similar design language with the Mazda EZ-6. The teaser showcases slim LED headlights flanking Mazda’s signature front grille, a sleek roofline, and slim side mirrors.
For those following Mazda’s EV development, the Mazda EZ-60 bears a strong resemblance to the Mazda Arata concept, which debuted at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. Mazda previously announced that the Arata concept would be the second EV by Changan Mazda, set for launch in China by late 2025.

Mazda EZ-6 Powertrain – A Possible Preview of the EZ-60?
Pure Electric (EV) Variant
- Rear-mounted electric motor: 190 kW (258 PS), 350 Nm
- Battery options:
- 56.1 kWh (480 km CLTC-rated range)
- 68.8 kWh (600 km CLTC-rated range)
Range Extender Electric Vehicle (EREV) Variant
- Rear-mounted electric motor: 160 kW (217 PS), 320 Nm
- Battery options:
- 18.9 kWh (130 km CLTC-rated EV range)
- 28.4 kWh (200 km CLTC-rated EV range)
EREV variants of the Mazda EZ-6 feature a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder JL473QJ petrol engine. Said engine isn’t connected to the wheels, and is only used as a generator to charge the batteries.
Since the Mazda EZ-60 will be the second model from the Changan Mazda joint venture, it is likely to feature a similar powertrain lineup.

Additionally, Mazda recently trademarked the “Mazda CX-6e” nameplate with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), hinting that the Mazda EZ-60 could be exported out of China as the CX-6e. This arrangement mirrors the Mazda EZ-6, which is exported to Europe as the Mazda 6e.
Mazda, Changan, and Malaysia – The Connection
Closer to Malaysia, Bermaz Auto—the company responsible for Mazda (Bermaz Motor), Xpeng (Bermaz Xpeng), and Kia (Dinamikjaya Motors)—previewed the Deepal S07 in January 2025. Sales of Deepal-branded EVs will be handled by Bermaz Changan, a newly formed subsidiary.

For context, Deepal is a sub-brand under the Changan Automobile Group, and the Mazda EZ-6 was co-developed with Changan on the EPA platform.
