Bookings opened: 2025 Suzuki Fronx inches closer to Malaysia launch, est. RM 150k, hybrid confirmed

With the imminent discontinuation of the 2025 Suzuki Swift Sport in the country, it appears that Suzuki Cars Malaysia is gearing up to launch a mainstream hybrid SUV soon.

As seen on Suzuki Cars Malaysia’s social media platforms, bookings are now opened for the 2025 Suzuki Fronx in Malaysia. Said social media postings also revealed that Suzuki Cars Malaysia will be introducing the Hybrid variant here.

We reached out to several Suzuki dealerships, which revealed that the estimated price could be in the RM 150,000 region – itself a competitive price, given that the model is imported (CBU) from Indonesia. Rivals include the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid (From RM 140,800) and Honda HR-V e:HEV RS (From RM 143,900).

To recap, Suzuki offers the 2025 Fronx across several powertrain options. The hybrid features a petrol-electric 1.4-litre K14C mild-hybrid (MHEV) system, producing 103 PS and 137 Nm. This front-wheel drive SUV can be had with the choice of a 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, or a 6-speed automatic. It remains to be seen which transmission will make its way here.

If the Indonesian-spec Fronx is any indication, this Perodua Ativa-rivalling SUV, in its top-spec variant, is packed to the brim with safety features, including:

There’s also six airbags and stability control.

Other equipment include a wireless phone charger, tilt & telescopic steering column adjustment, rear aircond vents, and rear USB-A + USB-C charging ports. There’s even a heads-up display (HUD).
