Volvo Car Malaysia has announced an extension of its complimentary Volvo Car Connect Plus data service for eligible owners whose subscriptions are approaching expiry.
Formerly known as Digital Services, Volvo Car Connect Plus is the data connectivity package offered with the latest generation of Google built-in Volvo models. The service enables tether-free media streaming, over-the-air software updates, and seamless access to Google apps such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, and the Google Play Store — all integrated directly into the car’s infotainment system.
Complimentary connectivity, now for up to five years
Since the introduction of Google built-in Volvo models in Malaysia, the Connect Plus package has been included as a complimentary service for new car owners. The initial offer covered four years of free data connectivity for 2022 and early 2023 model-year vehicles. From the 2024 model year onward, this benefit was increased to five years.
To align with the latest offer, Volvo Car Malaysia is extending the complimentary Connect Plus service by one additional year for the first wave of customers — those who purchased model year 2022 and 2023 cars built on the brand’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) and first-generation Scalable Product Architecture (SPA1) platforms.
This one-year extension will take effect automatically once the current subscription period ends, requiring no software updates or SIM card replacements.

Volvo Car Connect Plus plays a crucial role in the brand’s next generation of fully electric, software-defined vehicles. Models like the EX90, and the upcoming ES90 and EX60, feature AI-powered core computing systems capable of processing and analysing more data over the air. This enables faster updates, smarter machine learning, and future-ready improvements in autonomous driving and road safety.
Another benefit of Connect Plus is its vehicle-based subscription — the plan is linked to the car rather than the owner. This means that if the vehicle changes hands, the remaining data quota and validity period are automatically transferred to the next owner, helping preserve resale value.
With this latest update, Volvo Car Malaysia continues to enhance the ownership experience by combining advanced connectivity with long-term value and peace of mind.
