2026 Mazda CX-5 2.0L High gets new 12.3-inch Android head unit, RM 157,629.20

Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia has quietly updated the 2026 Mazda CX-5 2.0L High in the country with a new 12.3-inch infotainment display.

This new 12.3-inch infotainment display is powered by a Qualcomm QCM6125 system-on-chip (SoC), running on the Android 13 operating system. There’s also 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage on board.

What we do know is that this new infotainment display functions like an Android tablet, featuring apps like Netflix, TikTok, Waze, Spotify, and YouTube.

Fret not, as the original Mazda Connect operating system can still be accessed via the “Original Car Mode” icon on the homescreen. That said, under “Original Car Mode”, the display will revert back to a 4:3 aspect ratio – identical to the aspect ratio of the CX-5’s original 8.0-inch head unit.

Support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is accessible via “Original Car Mode”, while the Android part has native support for Waze and Google Maps.

This upgrade is currently only available on the Mazda CX-5 2.0L High; the Mid, 2.5G High, 2.2D High, and 2.5G AWD High Turbo variants have yet to receive this update. Furthermore, Bermaz will return the original 8.0-inch head unit to the owners upon purchase of the new vehicle.

The RM 6,160 accessories package includes the aforementioned head unit, Activ-e window tint, sill plate with LED, Bermaz-branded digital video recorder (DVR), and body-colour cladding. It brings the on-the-road price of the CX-5 2.0L to RM 157,629.20 for metallic colours, while the premium colour option adds another RM 3,000.
