Ferrari has just dropped teaser images of the interior of the Ferrari Luce – their first-ever EV.
The Luce, which was previously known as the Electtrica, translates into “light”, symbolizes Ferrari’s vision for the future. It reflects Ferrari’s belief that leadership means illuminating the path ahead, blending innovation with emotion rather than pursuing electrification for its own sake.
Ferrari revealed the interior in San Francisco, which was jointly hosted by Ferrari and LoveFrom, the design company founded by ex-Apple Chief Design Officer Jony Ive. Ferrari has been working with LoveFrom on the Luce for the past 5 years, collaborating on the vehicle’s design language, user interface, and material choices.

LoveFrom worked alongside Ferrari Centro Stile under Flavio Manzoni, shaping every dimension of the Luce’s interior from the outset. While the creative collective was given freedom to define the design direction, every solution was developed to meet Ferrari’s stringent functional targets, packaging constraints and global homologation requirements.

The Luce’s cabin is conceived as a single, uncluttered volume, with simplified forms focused on driving. Hardware and software were developed together, resulting in a cohesive interface where physical controls and digital displays work in harmony.
Ferrari deliberately avoids touchscreen-heavy layouts, prioritising mechanical, tactile controls that encourage intuitive interaction and reduce driver distraction.

The interior features three displays: a driver binnacle, a central control panel and a rear control panel integrated into the centre console. Inputs and outputs are clearly separated to improve usability.
The instrument binnacle, mounted on the steering column, is a first for a series-production Ferrari. It moves with the steering wheel, ensuring a consistent view of the displays. Developed with Samsung Display, the binnacle uses overlapping OLED panels, with three circular cutouts in the top display revealing information from a second screen beneath—creating a layered, three-dimensional visual effect.

Graphics draw inspiration from 1950s and 60s Veglia and Jaeger instruments, blending analogue-style clarity with fully digital functionality to minimise cognitive load.
The three-spoke steering wheel reinterprets classic Ferrari designs while incorporating modern engineering. Made entirely from 100% recycled aluminium, it consists of 19 CNC-machined parts and weighs 400 grammes less than a standard Ferrari wheel.

Controls are arranged into two analogue modules beneath the side spokes, inspired by Formula One single-seaters. Each button was refined through extensive testing to achieve consistent mechanical feel and acoustic feedback.

The central touchscreen is mounted on a ball-and-socket joint, allowing it to be angled towards either the driver or passenger. A physical aluminium bar beneath the display acts as both a grab handle and palm rest for improved ergonomics.

Above it sits a dedicated control panel for functions such as lighting, defrosters and emergency services, alongside a clearly marked Launch control.
Integrated into the display is a multigraph, featuring three independently driven aluminium hands and four selectable modes—clock, chronograph, compass and launch control—protected by Corning® Fusion5® Glass.
Material selection prioritises durability and precision. Aluminium components are machined from solid billets using advanced CNC processes before anodisation, while glass surfaces use Corning® Fusion5® Glass for improved scratch resistance and optical clarity.

Starting the Luce is designed to be theatrical. The glass key, featuring an automotive-first E Ink display, changes colour when inserted into its dock, triggering a choreographed illumination sequence across the cabin.
The glass gear selector is produced using laser-based manufacturing techniques never previously applied to automotive interiors, ensuring ultra-precise graphics beneath the glass surface.
Ferrari positions the Luce’s interior as a balance of heritage, craftsmanship and forward-thinking design, offering a new interpretation of what a Ferrari can be in the electric age.
Maranello will be unveiling the exterior of the Luce in May 2026.
