Hyundai Malaysia’s exciting 2026: Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N Q2, Tucson & Santa Fe CKD, Stargazer

Following the Hyundai direct entry into Malaysia, the new company, Hyundai Motor Malaysia, has been busy with launches of new modes, including the facelifted Hyundai Tucson, all-new Hyundai Santa Fe, and updated Hyundai Staria.

At the recent 2026 Media Appreciation Night, Hyundai has confirmed that the high-performance Ioniq N models will be arriving in Q2 2026, followed by locally-assembled (CKD) versions of the Tucson and Santa Fe.

Spearheading Hyundai’s Ioniq N line-up in Malaysia is none other than the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N. Both the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N are powered by an 84-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, allowing for a WLTP-rated range of up to 448 km (Ioniq 5 N) and 487 km (Ioniq 6 N). DC fast charging goes up to 350 kW, allowing the battery pack to charge from 10% to 80% state-of-charge (SoC) in just 18 minutes.

According to Hyundai, both the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N output 650 PS and 770 Nm of torque. The former completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.4 seconds while the latter achieves it in 3.2 seconds. Top speed is 260 km/h for the Ioniq 5 N, while the 6 N has a top speed of 257 km/h.

Apart from the full-blown N models, Hyundai will also be introducing N-Line variants of their regular cars, which offers sporty design and enhanced driving dynamics without full performance engineering, sufficient for daily driving.

But that’s not all – Hyundai also mentioned that a new B-segment MPV could be making its way here. While the company stopped short of sharing more details, there is a possibility that they are referring to the Hyundai Stargazer – a 7-seater MPV that will challenge rivals such as the Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Veloz.
