Lotus Cars Malaysia celebrates 30th Anniversary, special Eletre coming soon

Lotus Cars Malaysia recently celebrated its 30th anniversary in the Malaysian market. Held under the theme “3 Decades. 1 Future.”, the milestone event gathered industry pioneers, owners, and media to commemorate the brand’s establishment in Malaysia since 1996 and outline its future roadmap.

The anniversary celebration featured a reflection on the brand’s history and the unveiling of a commemorative vehicle:

  • Special Edition Lotus Eletre: Lotus Cars Malaysia unveiled an exclusive 30th anniversary edition of the Lotus Eletre. The vehicle features a striking John Player Special-inspired livery and a custom “30 Years of Lotus Cars Malaysia” emblem
  • Legacy Fireside Chat: A centerpiece panel featured key figures from Lotus’s history in Malaysia, including Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel, Tengku Djan Ley, Oh Kah Beng, and Marcus Chye. The panel discussed the brand’s formative Proton-era legacy, motorsport milestones, and the growth of the local owners’ community

Looking ahead, Lotus Cars Malaysia announced several new initiatives, strategic directions, and lifestyle partnerships:

  • 2027 Model Year Direction: The company previewed its strategy for the 2027 model year (2027MY), committing to enhanced product specifications and stronger market value for upcoming vehicles
  • Sepang Lap Record Attempt: Lotus Cars Malaysia announced its intention to establish a new lap benchmark at the Sepang International Circuit using the all-electric Lotus Emeya
  • Lifestyle Partnerships: To expand its cultural presence, Lotus announced upcoming collaborations with homegrown brands:
    • Lotus × Pestle & Mortar: An exclusive streetwear capsule collection
    • One Half Roastery: A special “Lotus Blend” coffee featuring locally sourced beans from Johor
  • Community Expansion: Plans to strengthen the local ownership ecosystem through expanded showroom experiences, dedicated driving events, and owners’ concours events
