Long live the sedans – smart has just debuted its first-ever sedan called the smart #6. smart’s first-ever sedan was shown, you’ve guessed it, at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.
Despite being called the #6, the model is in fact the company’s fourth model in their current line-up, which is set to be expanded to five models with the introduction of te revived smart #2 (which was called the smart ForTwo).

Unlike its stablemates, the smart #6 won’t be offered as a pure EV.
Powering the smart #6 EHD is a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (likely points at the BHE15-family of engines), mated to a 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (3DHT).

Combined system output, according to smart, is 320 kW (435 PS). Under the less stringent CLTC test cycle, the smart #6 returns a pure electric range of 285 km, whilst consuming just 3.9 L/100 km. Combined range, also under the same CLTC test cycle, is said to be at 1,810 km.
In the age of various SUVs, it’s refreshing to see smart offering a sedan, and one that looks superb. It measures 4,906 mm long, 1,922 mm wide, 1,508 mm tall, with a 2,926 mm long wheelbase, putting it marginally larger than the BYD Seal (4,800 mm x 1,875 mm x 1,460 mm, wheelbase 2,920 mm).

At the Beijing Auto Show, we also managed to get a quick look at its interior, which gets dual 13.0-inch OLED displays. There’s also a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor to support various ADAS features.
For China, the smart #6 is priced from CNY 189,900 (~RM110k). No word on whether the smart #6 will find its way outside of the Middle Kingdom, but given smart’s track record of offering its models overseas, we reckon the #6 is a matter of when, rather than if.
