Honda Malaysia extends HEV battery warranty to 10 Years, second hand owners covered

Honda Malaysia is upping the ante on its hybrid warranty coverage. From 1-May 2026, newly purchased Honda e:HEV models will come with a 10-year hybrid battery and components warranty with unlimited mileage, up from the previous 8-year coverage.

The extended warranty applies across Honda’s current e:HEV lineup, including the City e:HEV, City Hatchback e:HEV, HR-V e:HEV, Civic e:HEV, and CR-V e:HEV. Selected hybrid components that were previously covered for 5 years are now bumped up to 10 years as well.

It’s not just new buyers who benefit. Existing e:HEV owners and those with older i-DCD models — that covers Jazz, City, and HR-V owners on the previous hybrid system — also get the extended 10-year hybrid battery warranty. Honda is also extending coverage to second-hand buyers, with subsequent owners remaining eligible for warranty coverage upon transfer, valid up to the 10th year of the original warranty period.

The warranty extension sits under the broader “Hybrid Done Right” campaign, running from 1-April to 30-June 2026.
