Malaysia just witnessed the launch of the all-new 2026 Subaru Crosstrek, following countries like Indonesia and Singapore which launched the model a couple of months prior.
Overview
The Subaru Crosstrek supersedes the long-serving Subaru XV, not just in Malaysia, but globally. Markets that once sold the Subaru XV have eventually adopted the Crosstrek nameplate.
Similar to the SL-generation Subaru Forester, the new Subaru Crosstrek is imported (CBU) from Japan.
The sole variant, the Crosstrek 2.0i-S EyeSight is priced from RM 190,788 (on-the-road, without insurance).

Exterior
Kicking things off with the exterior, the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek gets an evolutionary design compared to the predecessor model. The LED headlights are now slimmer, and feature a silver trim piece that interconnects both headlights.
There’s also a large hexagonal grille, as well as chunky (and we mean chunky) body cladding throughout the exterior.
As standard, our Malaysian-spec Crosstrek receives a set of 18-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 225/55R18 tyres.
Colour options include Citron Yellow Peal, Crystal Black Silica, Crystal White Peal, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Grey Metallic, Pure Red, Sand Dune Peal, and Sapphire Blue Pearl.
Interior
Inside, there’s now a large 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment display, with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, directing audio through a six-speaker sound system.
Other amenities include leather seats, 10-way power-adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, automatic dual-zone climate control, wireless charging pad, paddle shifters, and a sunroof.

Powertrain
Powering the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek is a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder boxer engine that produces a modest 156 PS and 196 Nm, mated to Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT.
In-line with other Subaru models (barring the RWD BRZ), the Crosstrek gets the company’s famed Symmetrical AWD system.
