Chery’s Lepas debuts at Auto China 2026 with 2 EV SUVs

Lepas, the new energy vehicle brand under Chery Group, made its global debut at Auto China 2026 in Beijing on 24 April, unveiling its NEV strategy alongside the world premiere of two electric SUVs — the Lepas L6 EV and the Lepas L4 EV.

The brand is built on three pillars: Leopard Aesthetics, Elegant Technology, and Exquisite Space, and sits on Chery’s dedicated LEX intelligent new energy platform. Lepas is targeting multiple segments from compact to mid-to-large vehicles globally.

The L6 EV is the larger of the two, positioned as a family and urban professional SUV. Design-wise, it follows the “Leopard Aesthetics” language with a low-slung, wide-body stance and “Hunting Eye” headlamps. On the tech front, it’s the first Lepas model to feature VPD, H-NOA, Bosch IPB 2.0, and a Super AI Agent covering driving, parking, and in-cabin scenarios. Specific powertrain and range figures have not been announced at the time of writing.

The L4 EV is the smaller, lighter model aimed at urban use. It gets “Hunting Motion” styling with contrasting body colours and Leopard Shadow wheels. Under the bonnet — or rather, under the floor — is a 160 kW electric motor paired with a multi-link independent rear suspension and a globally tuned chassis. Claimed range is around 500 km, with fast-charging support. Lepas also quotes 21 ADAS features as standard.

Closer to home, it is possible that the entry-level Lepas L4 could spearhead the brand’s model line-up, as the model was spotted during a commercial shoot a couple of months ago.
