At the time of writing, not much is known about the specifications of the Lepas L4, but over in South Africa where the L4 was recently showcased, it gets a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 147 PS and 235 Nm of torque – around the ballpark of the Chery Tiggo Cross.
For the South African market, the Lepas L4 is offered with a dual-clutch automatic – likely the same six-speed unit found in the Tiggo Cross.

Beyond the powertrain, CarMag also revealed the Lepas L4’s dimensions – 4,406 mm long, 1,802 mm wide, 1,635 mm tall, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. For context, that puts the Lepas L4 marginally longer than other B-segment SUVs like the Honda HR-V, Prootn X50, or even stablemates Chery Omoda O5 or Tiggo Cross.
Considering that the commercial shoot is underway, it is likely that the local launch of the Lepas marque is just around the corner. While Indonesia debuted the Lepas marque ahead of us with the Lepas L8, could Malaysia host the regional debut of the L4 later this year?
