Proton eMas 5’s Chinese twin updated to offer up to 480 km

The Proton eMas 5’s Chinese twin, the Geely Xingyuan (星愿) was recently updated in China, with six new variants on offer.

Crucially, this update also brings with it a bump in the Xingyuan’s usable range, with the upper variants now offering up to 480 km (presumably under the CLTC cycle). The outgoing Xingyuan offers up to 410 km under the same CLTC cycle, translating into a WLTP-rated range of 325 km.

As such, the estimated WLTP test cycle, should be about 394 km – marking an almost 70 km additional range.

This is achieved by a larger CATL-sourced LFP battery pack with a capacity of 47.14 kWh. Our eMas 5, in the Premium trim, offers a 40.16-kWh CATL LFP battery pack. Despite the larger battery pack, Geely says that it can charge at 1.66C, bringing the 30% to 80% state-of-charge (SoC) in just 19 minutes.

But it’s not just the usable range that received an increase; YiChe also reported that the updated 2026 Geely Xingyuan also gets the Flyme Auto 2.0 infotainment system, powered by a 7nm automotive-grade Longying (Dragon Eagle) 1 system-on-chip (SOC), featuring an eight-core CPU, 16GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

ADAS features have also been improved here, with the new model now equipped with an improved Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) feature, 2 km parking memory, as well as Sentry Mode and Driver Monitoring System (DMS).

In China, prices of the updated 2026 Geely Xingyuan start from CNY 61,800 for the entry-level variant, before topping out at CNY 91,800 for the top-spec 480 km variant. Our eMas 5 is priced at RM 56,800 for the Prime variant, while the Premium goes for RM 69,800.
