Following its preview a couple of weeks ago, the newly-formed Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has launched the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe in Malaysia.
Now in its fifth generation, Hyundai has redesigned the Santa Fe from the ground-up – out goes the sleek design found on the fourth-generation model, as the all-new fifth-generation model gets a blocky and cube-like design.

Prices start from RM 225,000 for the Prime HEV variant, while the Prestige HEV variant goes for RM 245,000. The top-spec Calligraphy 2.5T retails for RM 270,000. These prices are on-the-road, without insurance.

While the model is currently imported (CBU) from Korea, HMY has confirmed that there are plans to locally-assemble (CKD) the model at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah.

What’s new on the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe?
The front fascia of the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe gets a number of H-shaped design elements, including on the front bumper and even the headlights. The Prestige and Calligraphy variants get projector LED, while the Prime variant gets a set of reflector LED headlights.

It’s almost poetically blocky – the front grille is just as blocky as the lower air intake, with a pair of rectangular air skirts at each corner of the front bumper.

Likewise, the attention-to-detail of Hyundai’s designers can also be seen at the rear of this large SUV, as it gets the same H-shaped motifs nestled within the LED tail lights.

Thankfully the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe gets proper round wheels – no blocky wheels here. Hybrid Prime and Prestige variants get 20-inch five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, while the top-spec Calligraphy gets a set of 21-inch black multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe gets leather upholstery for all variants (Calligraphy gets dual-tone Nappa leather upholstery), Qi wireless pad (Single for the Prime and Prestige variants, Dual for the Calligraphy), 12.3-inch curved infotainment display, and paddle shifters. The base Prime variant gets a 6-speaker sound system, while the Prestige and Calligraphy variants get a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

As for the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe’s powertrains, there’s a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain features a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine that outputs 180 PS and 265 Nm, which is mated to an electric motor that contributes another 60 PS and 264 Nm. Combined system output is 230 PS and 350 Nm, delivered to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The other is a turbocharged 2.5-litre petrol unit that does 281 PS and 422 Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Said transmission is hooked up to Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
All variants of the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe receive Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW) with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), High Beam Assist (HBA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Lane Keeping Assist – Line/Road-Edge (LKA-L/R), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Safe Exist Assist (SEA), Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC w/ S&G).
This new large-size SUV will be available in five colours, namely Abyss Black Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, Earthy Brass Matte, Ecotronic Gray Pearl, and Ocado Green Pearl.
