MG Motor Malaysia has just introduced the 2025 MG Cyberster RWD, roughly seven months after launching the AWD variant in the country.
Priced from RM 299,900 (on-the-road, without insurance), the RWD variant is RM 20,000 more affordable than the AWD variant.
2025 MG Cyberster RWD drops the front-mounted motor

Power for the 2025 MG Cyberster RWD comes from a rear-mounted electric motor that outputs 340 PS and 475 Nm, sufficient to propel this electric roadster from 0-100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds.
Like its AWD sibling, the electric motor is juiced by a CATL-sourced 77-kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery pack. Under the WLTP test cycle, the Cyberster RWD returns a range of up to 508 km.
In terms of charging, the MG Cyberster RWD supports up to 144 kW DC fast charging, enabling the sleek roadster to charge from 10% to 80% state-of-charge (SoC) in just 38 minutes.
RWD variant gets different wheels

Visually, the biggest differentiator between the 2025 MG Cyberster RWD and the AWD sibling is that the former gets a smaller set of 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels; everything else it identical to the AWD model.

As such, the 2025 MG Cyberster RWD also gets the same Brembo brakes, arrow-shaped LED tail lights, and racing-inspired cabin with leather and Alcantara inserts. The MG Cyberster RWD also gets the same tri-wraparound displays with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

A total of four colours are available on the MG Cyberster: Camden Grey, Dynamic Red, English White, and Inca Yellow. The Dynamic Red and Camden Grey-finished models get a black and red interior, while the Inca Yellow and English White models get grey interiors. Additionally, those wanting something different from the black soft top can opt for a red soft top, which is a RM 2,000 option.
The MG Cyberster is backed by a 7-year/150,000-km warranty, while the high-voltage battery pack gets an 8-year/180,000 km warranty, and the drive motor and motor control unit get an 8-year/160,000 km warranty.

“The MG Cyberster shows how far electric vehicles have come – it delivers style, power, and innovation without compromise. With the new RWD variant, we are giving more Malaysians the opportunity to own a true electric roadster that blends our motorsport heritage with future-forward EV technology,” said Emory QiFeng, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia.
Those interested in the MG Cyberster RWD can check out the roadster at the MG Motor Malaysia “Dare to Love” Roadshow happening at 1 Utama Shopping Centre (Old Wing), Ground Floor Centre Court, from 9 to 13 July 2025 from 10am to 10pm.
