Suzuki Cars Malaysia has dropped a teaser for the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara, on social media. The post was accompanied by the caption: “Will we be able to see this beauty on Malaysian roads or off-roads anytime soon? Only time will tell.”
What is the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara?
The Suzuki e Vitara is a B-segment electric crossover that made its global debut in late 2024. In selected markets, the e Vitara is also rebadged as the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
Globally, Suzuki offers two battery options, both supplied by BYD:
- 49-kWh LFP battery – single-motor, FWD, 106 kW (144 PS), 189 Nm, 342 km WLTP
- 61-kWh LFP battery – single-motor, FWD, 128 kW (174 PS), 189 Nm, 424 km WLTP
- 61-kWh ALLGRIP-e – dual-motor, AWD, 135 kW (184 PS), 300 Nm, 394 km WLTP

Charging options of the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara include:
- DC fast charging: 10–80% SoC in ~45 minutes
- AC charging: Up to 11 kW, ~5.5 hours for full charge
Built on Suzuki’s Heartect-E platform, the e Vitara measures:
- Length: 4,275 mm
- Width: 1,800 mm
- Height: 1,635 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,700 mm
This platform is a modified EV version of the Heartect platform, already used in models like the Suzuki Swift Sport, Baleno, Ignis, and Fronx.
The 2025 Suzuki e Vitara will be manufactured at Suzuki’s plant in Gujarat, India, with around 50% of production allocated for exports to Europe and other global markets.
At the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), Suzuki previewed the e Vitara ahead of its planned Indonesian launch in early 2026.
Will it come to Malaysia?
While Suzuki Cars Malaysia has not confirmed a local launch, the teaser post hints that the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara Malaysia launch could be under consideration. However, timing is critical — Malaysia’s current EV import and excise duty exemptions for CBU EVs are scheduled to expire on 31-December 2025.
If Suzuki Cars Malaysia brings the e Vitara here before then, it could enter Malaysia’s growing EV market with competitive pricing, joining rivals like the BYD Atto 2 and soon-to-be launched 2025 Proton eMas 5.
