WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), the official distributor of GAC-branded vehicles in Malaysia, has officially launched the 2025 GAC Emkoo, a C-segment SUV aimed at rivals like the Proton X70, Jetour Dashing, and Chery Tiggo 7.
Prices start from RM 123,800 for the Premium variant, while the Premium Pro variant is priced from RM 133,800. Both prices are on-the-road, without insurance.
For the first 500 customers, GAC Malaysia is offering an Exclusive Early Bird Promo, which includes an RM 4,000 cash rebate, thus reducing the price of the Emkoo down to RM 119,800 for the Premium and RM 129,800 for the Premium Pro variant.
Additionally, the first 500 customers will receive a complimentary accessory package worth RM 10,000, including a 2-channel DVR, Emkoo exclusive kicking plate, luggage tray, and sport pedals. Premium buyers also receive a Vkool Solar Tint and an electric power tailgate, while Premium Pro buyers get Vkool Security Tint.
Exterior
The 2025 GAC Emkoo features a bold, futuristic design language with sharp angles and distinctive character lines, underlining its “Future Styled SUV” positioning.
The front-end features an aggressive grille design with multiple angular design elements, flanked by a pair of sharp LED headlights. Towards the rear, the Emkoo gets similar angular design elements, including the boomerang-shaped LED tail lights and rear diffuser piece. The twin mufflers, which reside on each end of the rear bumper, features a hexagonal design.
A set of 19-inch, 10-spoke, two-tone alloy wheels are common for both the Premium and Premium Pro variants.
Five exterior colours are available: Asphalt Black, Graphite Grey, Frost White, Star Lake Green, and Super Star Silver, all paired with a black leatherette interior accented with red highlights for a sportier touch.
Interior
Inside, key features of the 2025 GAC Emkoo include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster (Premium Pro only), and a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, pumping audio through a 6-speaker DTS sound system. There’s also a 50W wireless charging pad for both variants, as well as ventilated driver seat, automatic air-conditioning, and rear air-cond vents.
The cabin is designed with practicality in mind, offering a segment-leading 638 litres of boot space, expandable to 1,586 litres with the rear seats folded flat.
Powertrain
The 2025 GAC Emkoo is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre TGDI four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 7-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
GAC Malaysia says that the Emkoo outputs 177 PS at 5,500 rpm and 270 Nm of torque from 1,400 rpm to 4,500 rpm, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 190 km/h.
Under the NEDC test cycle, the 2025 GAC Emkoo returns 6.6 litre/100 km.
