
Pro-Net, the subsidiary under Proton that’s in charge of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), has announced that a total of 7,413 units of the Proton eMas 7 has been sold since the model was launched.
That figure comprises of 6,954 units sold locally and 459 units that were exported. As such, the eMas 7 continues as Malaysia’s No. 1 EV model for 10 consecutive months.

As for the recently-launched Proton eMas 5, Pro-Net has announced that this new EV has received more than 10,000 bookings nationwide.
Mr Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Office of Pro-Net said, “We are truly humbled by the continued support Malaysians have shown towards both the Proton eMas 7 and now, the Proton eMas 5 as well. Every booking received is the mark of trust that Malaysians have in us to deliver the eMas 5 at the highest standards. As the national automaker, we will continue to uphold our responsibility to make electric mobility more accessible and reliable.”

Central region continues to lead eMas 5 bookings

According to Pro-Net, the Central Region recorded the higher number of bookings, followed by Southern and Northern Regions. Demand from East Malaysia and East Coast is also on an upward trend.
Dealer insights revealed that majority of eMas 5 customers are working professionals that chose the B-segment EV as their primary daily vehicle, with many of them opting to trade in their existing vehicle.

Additionally, a significant number of buyers are also purchasing the eMas 5 as a secondary household car. A growing number of first-time car buyers are also purchasing the eMas 5, according to Pro-Net.
As a brief recap, prices start from RM 56,800 for the Prime variant and RM 69,800 for the Premium variant, the 2026 Proton eMas 5 is currently Proton’s (and at the time of writing, Malaysia’s) most affordable EV. These prices are inclusive of a RM 3,000 rebate, valid till 31-December 2025. These prices are on-the-road, excluding insurance.
