These prices are valid for the first 300 customers of the smart #5.
As part of the All-Inclusive Premium Ownership package, smart Malaysia is offering these:

The 2026 smart #5 is developed on the SEA3 platform that also underpins other models under the larger Geely umbrella, including the Geely Galaxy E8, Zeekr 007, and Zeekr 7X.

Like the smart #1 and smart #3, the larger sibling is imported (CBU) from China.
Exterior

Having developed small cars since its inception in the nineties, the smart #5 is the company’s largest vehicle to-date, measuring 4,705 mm long, 1,920 mm wide, and 1,705 mm tall, with a 2,900 mm long wheelbase.
This puts the smart #5 close to its stablemate, the Zeekr 7X, which measures 4,787 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, and 1,650 mm tall. Wheelbase is identical at 2,900 mm.

However, unlike the sleek and futuristic-looking Zeekr 7X, the smart #5 is brash and blocky. Emphasis on the blocky part, as smart has used the blocky design elements liberally, across the entire exterior. The end result is a, in this writer’s eyes, a very good-looking model in today’s EV scene.

The Brabus is recognisable by its sportier touch – there’s red highlights on the front apron, sides, roof rails, mirror caps, and rear apron. Additionally, the are red brake calipers hiding behind the 21-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Also different is the blocky elements in the lower air intake and rear bumper trim of the Brabus variant; the Pro and Premium variants get simpler silver skid plate-like design for both.
The Premium variant can be had with these four colours:
- Cyber Silver
- Meta Black
- Pulsar Ruby
- Saturn Beige
As for the Brabus, three colours are offered, namely:
- Atom Grey Matte
- Digital White
- Meta Black
The Brabus variant includes Eclipse Black roof and black cabin, while the Premium offers Shadow Black interior.
Interior

The blocky theme continues inside with a massive tri-screen layout – the front passenger gets their own display, made out of two 13.0-inch AMOLED displays. The driver’s display is marginally smaller at 10.3-inch.
Unlike rivals that are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 system-on-chip (SoC), the smart #5 gets an AMD V2000 SoC, backed by 24 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. There’s also support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Further complementing the smart #5 is the 20-speaker Sennheiser 2,000-watt sound system, replete with Dolby Atmos support and AMBEO immersive algorithm.

The Brabus adds red highlights, including red stitching on steering wheel, door panels, seats, dashboard and even red seat belts.
smart says that the #5 offers a 72-litre frunk, as well as a 1,530-litre boot space (rear seats folded down).
Powertrain

We kick things off with the smart #5 Premium. Powering this variant is a large 100-kWh nickel cobalt manganese (NMC) battery pack on an 800-volt electrical architecture. This electrical architecture supports up to 400 kW DC fast charging, which brings the 10% to 80% SoC charging time to just 15 minutes. AC charging tops out at 22 kW, requiring 4.5 hours to charge from 10% to 80% SoC.

Thanks to its larger battery, the smart #5 is able to return up to 590 km under the WLTP test cycle.
It’s also marginally more powerful than the Pro variant, offering 267 kW (363 PS) and 373 Nm from the rear-mounted motor. This shaves the 0-100 km/h time down to 6.5 seconds, whilst top speed is the same 200 km/h.
As for the top-of-the-line Brabus, this variant adds a front motor that brings the combined system output to 475 kW (646 PS) and 710 Nm, further reducing the 0-100 km/h time to 3.8 seconds. Top speed is slightly higher at 210 km/h.
Battery-wise, the Brabus variant features the same 100-kWh NMC pack, though the added front motor does reduce the usable range down to 540 km (WLTP).
Charging times of the Brabus variant are identical to the Premium variant.
Safety & Technology
In terms of body structure, the 2026 smart #5 features 82% high-strength steel, enabling a 42,300 Nm/deg torsional rigidity.
Furthermore, smart pointed out that the #5 is designed to meet both China and Europe’s stringent crash tests.
But it’s not just the body structure, as smart has highlighted the #5’s battery safety as well, mentioning that the battery pack has passed 218 system-level tests and 675 component tests, covering six categories of extreme operating condition tests.
The tests include simulated collision at 60G, mechanical shock at 20G, bottom ball impact, 2 meter fall, 5,000 meter high altitude test, water immersion safety (1 meter deep water for 24 hours), 240 hours of moisture-heat cycle, electromagnetic compatibility with high-voltage injection waveform, and insulation test.
