Perodua QV-E teaser

This is it, Perodua has just dropped a new teaser surrounding its upcoming electric vehicle (EV). The new video was uploaded on Perodua’s official YouTube channel moments ago.

Somewhere at the 10-second mark, the front view of the Perodua QV-E is flashed, and with the brightness and shadows adjusted, gives us an early look at the model’s name – QV-E. We broke the new a few months ago, speculating that Perodua’s first-ever EV could be named QV-E.

While Perodua has yet to reveal any details, initial specifications shown during KLIMS 2024 revealed that Perodua QV-E could offer a 0-100 km/h sprint time of between six to seven seconds. Its CATL-sourced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack could offer better 400 to 410 km of range.

Additionally, it will introduce Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) – a battery leasing service that is currently unavailable in Malaysia. This is Perodua’s method of ensuring that resale value of the QV-E doesn’t suffer in the future, as well as ensuring that the cost of the EV is kept affordable.

Now that the cat’s out of the bag, we reckon that the launch of the Perodua QV-E is just around the corner. Stay tuned for more updates!
