GWM Malaysia has achieved a key manufacturing milestone with the first locally assembled unit of the GWM WEY G9 rolling off the production line at EP Manufacturing Bhd’s (EPMB) facility in Melaka. The event was attended by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh, alongside senior representatives from both EPMB and GWM Malaysia.

The WEY G9 is the first premium Chinese New Energy MPV to be assembled in Malaysia, marking an important step in GWM’s localisation strategy and its broader ambition to position Malaysia as a strategic base for ASEAN operations. The model is scheduled to make its official Malaysian debut in early 2026.
