Something is changing at Hyundai Motor Malaysia, and many are involved

There is an upcoming change at Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY), as the company has signed Letters of Intent (LOIs) with four new dealer partners as part ofits long-term expansion plans in Malaysia.

The agreements were inked with BHS Auto Hyundai Sdn Bhd, Palm Motor Sdn Bhd, Anggerik Motor (Senai) Sdn Bhd, and Heng Lian Enterprise Bhd, marking a key step in strengthening Hyundai’s retail and aftersales presence nationwide.

According to HMY, the move signals a new phase of growth for the brand in Malaysia, with a focus on improving accessibility, maintaining consistent service standards, and building long-term customer confidence.

Rather than rapid network growth, HMY said its expansion strategy is centred on quality and sustainability, prioritising higher-capacity dealerships and closer collaboration with selected partners. This approach is aimed at ensuring consistent brand representation and service levels across a resilient and future-ready retail network.

The signed LOIs cover six outlets strategically located in high-potential markets including Ipoh, Petaling Jaya, Senai, and Kuching. These locations were selected based on market demand, customer reach, and long-term growth potential. Leveraging the dealer partners’ existing customer base and sales capabilities, HMY aims to broaden its market reach while delivering a consistent Hyundai ownership experience.

“These partnerships are part of a strategic plan designed for sustainable growth while ensuring the Hyundai brand is more accessible, reliable, and responsive to our customers’ needs,” said Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia. “By strengthening our dealership network with the right partners in the right locations, we are laying a strong foundation to serve customers more effectively nationwide.”

Malaysia continues to play a key role in Hyundai’s regional strategy. The latest expansion reflects the brand’s intent to adapt its global roadmap to local market conditions, ensuring relevance, resilience, and sustainable performance.

With the signing of these LOIs, Hyundai Motor Malaysia is reinforcing nationwide network expansion as a core pillar of its growth strategy, positioning the brand to better meet customer needs across the country in the years ahead.
