Jetour may be new to Malaysia, having launched their first model, the Jetour Dashing, back in April, but the SUV-heavy sub-brand of Chery is aggressively introducing new models here.

As the name suggests, the Jetour T1 is the smaller sibling to the soon-to-be launched Jetour T2. Dimension wise, the T1 is all-round smaller and shorter compared to the T2, though wheelbase is identical for both models. The T1 comes in at 4,705 mm long, 1,967 mm wide, and 1,843 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase.

That said, while the T2 takes a more rugged approach with its design language, the T1 adopts a more urban SUV approach – the bumpers and fender lining, while still prominent, aren’t as chunky as the T2.

Depending on market, the Jetour T2 can be had with a 1.5- or 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, as well as plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions. The entry-level 1.5-litre version produces 184 PS at 5,500 rpm and 290 Nm between 2,000 rpm to 4,000 rpm, while the more potent 2.0-litre version does 254 PS at 5,500 rpm and 390 Nm between 1,750 rpm to 4,000 rpm.

The 1.5-litre version is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, while the latter gets an 8-speed torque converter automatic. The latter is also fitted with an all-wheel drive (AWD), which Jetour markets as XWD Intelligent Four-wheel Drive.
As for when the Jetour T1 will launch here, we reckon a 2026 launch is plausible.
