2025 Jetour T2 teased, Malaysia to be first right-hand drive market?

2025 Jetour T2 in Malaysia

The 2025 Jetour T2 has been teased by Jetour Malaysia on its Facebook page, hinting at the imminent arrival of this new SUV.

Set to join the ranks of other boxy-shaped SUVs, the 2025 Jetour T2 was first shown here at the 2025 Malaysia Autoshow back in May.

What is the 2025 Jetour T2?

Think of the 2025 Jetour T2 as yet another entrant into the boxy SUV segment – the segment that’s currently occupied by models like the 2025 GWM Tank 300.

However, unlike the Tnak 300 and its ladder-frame construction, the Jetour T2 is built on a unibody architecture, specifically the same Kunlun architecture as the Jetour Dashing.

No word on what powertrain will be offered on the Malaysian-spec T2 as yet, but the unit that was previewed back in May featured a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (254 PS, 390 Nm), mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic – mirroring the powertrain in the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro.

Jetour also offers a smaller 1.5-litre turbo engine (184 PS, 290 Nm), as well as plug-in hybrid (PHEV) systems on the Jetour T2, though it remains to be seen if these powertrains would be offered here.

The 2025 Jetour T2 measures 4,785 mm (with spare wheel cover) long, 2,006 mm wide, 1,870 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase.

Marketed by Jetour as a “Rugged Adventure SUV”, the Jetour T2 features a 220 mm ground clearance, 39°approach angle, 25° ramp angle, and 30° departure angle. Further aiding the T2’s off-road credentials are Jetour’s XWD system (on-demand 4WD), various driving modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, Mud, Rock, XWD), and Intelligent Creeping mode.

Inside, the Jetour T2 is on par with other modern-day Chinese SUV, featuring a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 15.6-inch infotainment display. Jetour also poined out that the T2 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 system-on-chip (SoC), level 2 ADAS suite, dual-zone automatic climate control, and even a 12-speaker Sony sound system.

Similar to its sibling models, the Dashing and VT9, the 2025 Jetour T2 will be locally-assembled (CKD) at the Berjaya Assembly plant in Johor.
