Malaysia’s B-segment SUV market is set to welcome a new competitor very soon, in the form of the new Mitsubishi Xforce. This set of photos was sent over by reader Edwin, who informed us that they were taken at a Mitsubishi dealership.
What is the Mitsubishi Xforce?

Not to be confused with a certain comic book-adapted movie hero squad, the Mitsubishi Xforce is an upper B-segment SUV. It measures 4,390 mm long, 1,810 mm wide, and 1,660 mm tall, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase.
These dimensions place the Mitsubishi Xforce between the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross in terms of size. It is marginally longer than the HR-V, while offering a longer wheelbase than the Corolla Cross.

The Mitsubishi Xforce for Malaysia is likely powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre 4A91 four-cylinder petrol engine shared with the Xpander. This four-pot produces 105 PS and 141 Nm of torque, and is mated to a CVT automatic transmission.

Its MacPherson strut front suspension and rear torsion beam layout are also par for the course, especially within this segment and price bracket.

In terms of equipment, the photos sent over by our reader indicate that the Malaysian-spec Mitsubishi Xforce will be well equipped, featuring a Yamaha sound system, camera-based ADAS with adaptive cruise control, power tailgate, leather seats, and a 360-degree camera.

Additionally, the Xforce features a Wet driving mode paired with Active Yaw Control (AYC), designed to improve stability and cornering on wet roads.
With the Xforce gradually making its way to dealerships, we reckon that the local launch should be just around the corner. Stay tuned.
