Overview

The BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport expands the iX1 line-up with a 110 mm longer wheelbase and an overall length increase of 116 mm, translating into significantly improved rear passenger space. Positioned as a more family- and comfort-focused EV, it complements the standard-wheelbase iX1 introduced locally a year earlier.

Fully imported (CBU from China,) the 2026 BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport is priced at an estimated RM 255,000 (without BSRI). WLTP-rated driving range is quoted at up to 433 km.

Exterior

Visually, the iX1 eDrive20L M Sport features BMW’s enclosed EV grille with Extended Shadowline trim, matched with Adaptive LED headlights and M Lights Shadowline treatment. The elongated side profile is accentuated by flush door handles and square wheel arches housing 19-inch M light-alloy wheels (Style 871M).

At the rear, full-LED taillights in a distinctive L-shaped design complete the SAV’s modern look. Practicality is also a strong suit, with 490 litres of boot space, expandable to 1,600 litres, accessed via a power tailgate.

Interior

Thanks to the extended wheelbase, rear passengers benefit from an additional 81 mm of legroom and 107 mm of knee room, while seat cushioning has been improved with softer foam and a longer base.

Up front, the cabin features BMW’s Curved Display running BMW Operating System 9, paired with a BMW Head-Up Display. Sporty touches include an M Leather steering wheel and Aluminium Hexacube Pale M interior trim.

A standout feature is the panoramic Skyroof, which spans the cabin without a central crossbar and includes an electric fabric shade for added privacy. Other comfort features include electric sport seats with memory, wireless charging, comfort access, automatic climate control, and a Harman Kardon Hi-Fi sound system with 12 speakers

Powertrain

The BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport is powered by a single electrically excited synchronous motor (EESM) mounted on the front axle, producing 150 kW (204 hp) and 250 Nm of torque. This allows for a 0–100 km/h time of 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 175 km/h.

Energy is supplied by a 66.5 kWh (gross) battery, delivering up to 433 km of WLTP range. Charging options include 11 kW AC charging (0–100% in 6 hours 45 minutes) and DC fast charging up to 130 kW, enabling a 10–80% charge in 32 minutes.
