In conjunction with Federal Territory Day, Pro-Net, a wholly owned subsidiary of Proton, showcased the all-new Proton eMas 7 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) at the DBKL Run & KL Car-Free Morning, held on Sunday, 25-January 2026.
As part of its efforts to introduce electrified mobility to a wider audience, Pro-Net brought the Proton eMas 7 PHEV out of the showroom and into the heart of the city, giving members of the public the opportunity to get up close with the brand’s upcoming and first-ever PHEV model.
Visitors were able to explore the vehicle’s features firsthand while gaining a better understanding of the practicality, efficiency, and sustainability offered by a dual-powered powertrain.
“At Pro-Net, our brand vision is centred on how Proton e.MAS cars fit into the everyday lives of Malaysians,” said Puan Salawati Yusoff, Chief Brand Officer of Pro-Net “By bringing the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV directly to community events like KL Car-Free Morning, we invite everyone to learn more about the latest advanced technology of our e.MAS 7 PHEV and experience firsthand how Malaysia’s 1st Dual-Powered EV can make short-distance driving sustainable and long-distance driving more efficient.”
Bookings for the Proton eMas 7 PHEV, Malaysia’s first dual-powered EV, were also available directly at the showcase through authorised Pro-Net dealers.

The eMas 7 PHEV officially opened for bookings on 13 January 2026, following a 25-hour livestream drive that saw the vehicle travel over 1,100 km from Penang to Johor Bahru, before arriving at Proton’s Centre of Excellence (COE) with remaining range, thus demonstrating its real-world efficiency and long-distance capability.
