Tesla Malaysia has introduced the new 2026 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range RWD in the country, which is positioned as the entry point not just into the Model 3 line-up, but into the Tesla ecosystem.
Overview

Priced from RM 147,600, the new Tesla Model 3 Standard Range RWD variant is priced on par with popular C-segment sedans in the country, and is roughly RM 12,000 less than the RWD variant (RM 169,000).
As before, the 2026 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range RWD is imported (CBU) from China (Gigafactory Shanghai).
Exterior

Much of the entry-level Tesla Model 3 Standard Range RWD variant is similar to the Premium variants, including the LED headlights with automatic and adaptive high beams.

The biggest change is the 18-inch Prismata wheels – a different design from the Premium and Performance variants, which get 18-inch Photon and 20-inch Warp wheels, respectively.

Another change is the side mirrors – the auto-dimming function has been dropped in order for Tesla to achieve this price point.
Colour options of the entry-level variant are limited to:
- Diamond Black
- Pearl White Multi-Coat
- Stealth Grey
Interior

The entry-level positioning of this variant is more apparent as you step into the cabin – the perforated vegan leather seats have been swapped out with vegan leather seats with textile inserts.
Furthermore, the ventilated and power tilt functions have been removed; only the first-row heated seats are maintained.

Also removed are the wrap-around ambient lighting, power-adjustable steering wheel column (now manual adjust), acoustic glass, and footwell & door pocket ambient lighting (footwell ambient lighting only).
As for the rear passengers, the second-row touchscreen controls for the rear air vents have been removed and replaced with manual controls.
Speaker count has been reduced to just seven, down from the 9-speaker setup of the more expensive Premium RWD variants. The 15.4-inch infotainment system with cellular data, Wi-Fi, ultra-wide band (UWB), and Bluetooth is maintained, but the FM/DAB radio function has been axed.
Powertrain
Powering the 2026 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range RWD variant is a rear-mounted motor. Under the WLTP test cycle, this new variant is able to return up to 534 km of range.

The 0-100 km/h sprint time is completed in 6.2 seconds, 0.1 second slower than the Premium RWD variant. DC fast charging does up to 175 kW.
In terms of ride and handling, the frequency-dependent shock absorbers now make way for a set of passive shock absorbers.
