Chery Malaysia to launch 4 more new models through 2026, what are they?

At the sides of the Chery Media Appreciation Night held recently, the Wuhu-based company teased the arrival of four more new models for Malaysia.

The new models are set to be introduced from Q2 to Q4 2026, with two models set to debut in Q3 2026.

What’s Chery going to launch in Malaysia this year?

In Q2, the teaser image revealed that the model will be “Redefining Flagship Luxury”, possibly hinting at the arrival of the Chery Tiggo 9 – Chery’s current flagship model. Sold as the Tiggo 9X in China, it is offered with the choice of a 2.0-litre turbo petrol powertrain or a petrol-electric turbo 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

As for Q3, the teaser image revealed the arrival of two models with these captions “Improved Performance and Versatility” and “Youthful Evolution of an SUV”.

The former, it remains to be seen which model is being referred to, but  it could hint at a refreshed Tiggo 7 for one main reason – the Tiggo 7 is Chery Malaysia’s longest-running model that has yet to receive any significant improvements.

As for the latter, the hint could be referring to the imminent arrival of the second Chery O5 facelift that made its debut last year.

Still underpinned by the same platform as the current Chery O5 facelift, the second facelift completely overhauls this B-segment SUV, with an aggressive-yet-modern front fascia up front, while the rear sees a repositioned number plate recess. Stare hard enough and you’ll notice that the light bar splits at both ends – similar to the current O5 facelift.

Inside, the second facelifted Chery O5 facelift gets a simplified dashboard with a larger touchscreen infotainment display, with a smaller unit serving as a digital driver display – mirroring the Proton X50.

Lastly is the “CSH Refreshed” model. It remains to be seen which CSH model is due for an update, as at the time of writing, the Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 PHEV are Chery Malaysia’s newest models, which could rule out a refresh so soon. Could Chery be referring to an ICE model set to receive the CSH powertrain instead?
