The Proton Saga MPV is no secret – during the Proton Tech Showcase back in December 2025, the company teased the eventual arrival of other Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA) models. The Proton Saga MC3 is the first model to be underpinned by said platform.

Now, rendering whizz Theottle has created what could be the Proton Saga MPV.

For Theo’s render, he adapted the front and rear fascia of the current Saga MC3 onto the body of the second-generation Suzuki Ertiga.

The end result is a rather smart-looking entry-level MPV that could challenge the Perodua Alza.

While the render is Theo’s, one thing that Proton did mention was that the upcoming AMA-based Saga MPV would receive a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain. The Dedicated Hybrid Engine (DHE) would be paired to a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT120).

Said DHT120 was developed by Horse Powertrain, a Geely subsidiary that’s also responsible for the new i-GT four-cylinder petrol engine that currently powers the Saga, X50, X70, and S70. The DHT120 is also set to be locally-assembled at Proton’s Tanjong Malim facility.

Compared to other hybrid-specific transmissions, the DHT120 is said to be 14% lighter and offers an efficiency of up to 98%.

Could the rendered Proton Saga MPV hint at a revived Proton Exora? After all, the Exora was Proton’s first attempt at a family MPV and was on sale for 14 years – from 2009 till 2023.
