Perodua has welcomed the Malaysian government’s clarification on the National Automotive Policy (NAP) and its intended purpose of encouraging investment that benefits the country.
Perodua said the guidance provided under the NAP will help strengthen the automotive industry’s ecosystem and generate economic spillover for all stakeholders. This includes long-term employment, infrastructure investment, human capital development, research and development, technology sharing, and the development of local vendors and dealers.
Perodua also noted that the NAP’s Next Generation Vehicle (NxGV) vision is expected to bring greater value and innovation in mobility for Malaysians, including a wider range of services, enhanced safety features, and improved mobile integration leveraging internet technology.
Perodua described MITI’s existing policy, vision, and roadmap as a comprehensive, transparent, and consistent guide for the automotive industry, and expressed support for the ministry’s vision of a progressive Malaysian automotive industry that balances progress and openness for the benefit of all stakeholders.

The Perodua Dealers Association (PDA) added, “The Perodua Dealers Association (PDA) welcomes the clarification made by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) in welcoming investment into the industry and the Ministry’s commitment towards the prosperity of local businesses.”
