Third-gen Mazda CX-5 to launch in Malaysia in Q3 2026, est. RM 170k

Bermaz Motor, the official distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia, is expected to debut the third-generation Mazda CX-5 in the country soon.

According to a research note by RHB Investment Bank, Bermaz Motor is expected to launch the imported (CBU) third-gen Mazda CX-5 in July, with an estimated price of RM 170,000.

The third-gen Mazda CX-5 is codenamed KM and will likely be offered with a sole 2.5-litre petrol engine; other engines, including the sweet 2.5-litre turbo and 2.2-litre turbodiesel aren’t offered on the third-gen CX-5.

That said, Bermaz Motor has hinted that the outgoing KF-generation model will be sold alongside the third-gen KM model, albeit strictly with the smaller 2.0-litre petrol engine.

The same research note also mentioned that the arrival of the third-gen Mazda CX-5 will likely bump of sales volume, with a potential delivery of about 300 to 800 units per month. As of FY25, the Mazda CX-5 accounts for 40% of Bermaz’s sales, and the third-gen model is expected to bump that figure up higher.

“While its 3QFY26 sales volumes signal an initial turnaround, we expect a larger recovery to materialise from FY27 onwards, supported by the recently launched Mazda 3 and CX-60, as well as the upcoming facelifted CBU CX-5 this July. Collectively, these models (including the existing CX-5) accounted for c.60% of Mazda’s sales volumes in 2QFY26, while the CX-5 made up 40% of sales volume in FY25. As such, we believe the facelifted CX-5 will back the sales volume, with a potential delivery of about 300-800 units per month in the initial stages, given that the previous facelift was introduced in 2024,” the report stated.

Furthermore, said RHB Research Bank note also mentioned that Bermaz has plans to introduce a new, yet-to-be announce model.
