Days after its initial teaser, Proton has officially launched the new 2026 Proton X70 Sport Edition in Malaysia.
Limited to just 600 units, the X70 Sport Edition is built upon the top-spec X70 1.5L Premium, with the Sport Edition bits adding another RM 2,500, bringing the final price to RM 115,300.
Speaking of Sport Edition bits, the X70 Sport Edition can be visually identified by:
- Front skirt
- Side skirt
- Rear skirt
- Black 19-inch alloy wheels
- Sport Edition emblems
- Red stitching on steering wheel
- Red stitching on armrest
- Seats with embroidered Sport Edition logos
- Boot tray
Beyond these additions, the 2026 Proton X70 Sport Edition is identical to the X70 1.5 Premium, down to its powertrain. As such, the X70 Sport Edition gets the new Aurobay-sourced 1.5-litre four-cylinder BHE15 turbo engine that does 181 PS and 290 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed wet-type dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The sole colour available for the X70 Sport Edition is Quartz Black – the same black that was recently introduced to the 2026 Proton X50.
