Our 2026 Beijing Auto Show coverage continues with the second-generation BYD Atto 3.

Sitting at the BYD booth is the China domestic market model, fitted with the Yuan (元) Ultra emblem. Outside of China, the model is sold as the BYD Atto 3.

The headlining feature of the second-generation BYD Atto 3 is the upgraded and improved Blade battery, which can Flash Charge from 10% to 70% state-of-charge (SoC) in just 5 minutes. The Shenzhen-based company mentioned that this is achieved by a single-connector capable of outputting 1500 kW and high-capacity energy storage system. Together, these bypasses grid capacity limits without over-stressing the local power grid.
Furthermore, the new-generation Blade battery offers a higher energy density than before, allowing it to recharge from 30% to 50% quicker even without a Flash Charger.
