Lotus has joined the ranks of manufacturers who have earlier committed to an EV-only line-up with the introduction of the Lotus For Me – essentially a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the popular Eletre.
Recently, we attended the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, which gave us the opportunity to get up close and personal with Hethel’s latest model.

Visually, the Lotus For Me is identical to the pure electric Eletre, with the exception of the exhaust peeping from under the rear bumper.

Powering the Lotus For Me is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine codenamed DHE20-PFZ, enabling a combined system output of 952 PS and 935 Nm, propelling this 2.6-tonne SUV from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
Don’t let its PHEV designation fool you, as the For Me offers a 70-kWh CATL-sourced NMC battery pack, good for a CLTC-rated range of 420 km. It is developed on a 900-volt electrical architecture, allowing up to 6C charging speeds.
According to Lotus, the For Me is developed on the Sustainable Experience Architecture-R (SEA-R) platform, slightly different from the Eletre’s Electric Premium Architecture (EPA).

Now, hold your horses for a Malaysian debut. The Lotus For Me just went on sale in China a month ago, priced from CNY 508,000. The Black and Gold Edition that you see here, is a bit more expensive, coming in at CNY 638,000.
Closer to home, the regular Lotus Electre is priced from RM 499k onwards.
