It wasn’t just the smart #6 that caught our eye at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, as smart, the joint venture between Geely and Mercedes-Benz, also hosted the global debut of the smart #2.
The global debut of the revived smart fortwo marks the first revived model under the new Geely-Mercedes-Benz JV.

Elsewhere, according to several Chinese portals, the smart #2 could be fitted with a battery with a circa 30-kWh capacity, powering a rear-mounted electric motor. Under the WLTP standards, this city car is said to offer a range of almost 300 km, whilst taking less than 20 minutes to recharge from 10% to 80% state-of-charge (SoC).
In terms of design, the concept car shown at the Beijing Auto Show adopts a very upmarket approach, with its white and gold colour scheme looking right smack at home on the streets of Milan.

The headlights seen here are similar in shape to the smart #1, albeit shrunken to fit the smaller dimensions of the #2. The smart #2 also gets a similar semi-floating roof design as the #1, though it remains to be seen if the production version gets the same treatment.

Large wheels sit at the far edges of the smart #2, creating a very planted look for this tiny city car, which we reckon could be similar to what we can purchase when it goes on sale.
