Now with 6 airbags and ADAS, 2026 Suzuki Jimny launched in Malaysia, RM 158,900

At long last, the Suzuki Jimny gets updated with some much-needed kit. Earlier today, Naza Eastern Motors, the official distributor of Suzuki vehicles in Malaysia, launched the enhanced 2026 Suzuki Jimny.

Overview

Nearly five years since its initial debut in Malaysia, the Suzuki Jimny finally gets a much-needed upgrade in the safety department, as this update exercise introduces side and curtain airbags to the adorable SUV, as well as ADAS features.

That being said, despite the bump in kit count, prices remain unchanged. The 2026 Suzuki Jimny is priced as below:

  • 2026 Suzuki Jimny AllGrip Plus: RM 158,900
  • 2026 Suzuki Jimny Rhino Plus: RM 173,900

As before, the Suzuki Jimny is imported (CBU) from Japan.

Exterior

Visually, there’s no almost differentiating the pre-update model from the updated one. The LED headlights with washers are still present, as well as the angular front bumper, black fenders, and 15-inch alloy wheels.

The biggest change is the addition of front and rear parking sensors, as well as power-folding and heated side mirrors.

As for the Rhino Plus, this variant adds Rhino decals all-round the car, Rhino emblem on the tailgate, as well as a variant-specific 15-inch wheels. Other Rhino-specific bits include the eye-catching red mud flaps, spare wheel cover, door visors, and front bumper skirt.

Look closely and you’ll also spot a different front grille that Suzuki calls the Heritage Grille.

Six colours are offered, namely Bluish Black Pearl, Chiffon Ivory Metallic, Kinetic Yellow, Jungle Green, Medium Grey, and Pure White Pearl. To note, Kinetic Yellow and Chiffon Ivory Metallic are available with the Bluish Black Pearl two-tone roof.

As for the Rhino Plus, it is available in Chiffon Ivory, Kinetic Yellow, and Pure White Pearl.

Interior

Like the exterior, much of the updated Jimny’s cabin is identical as before. The multi-function steering wheel continues to be leather-wrapped, while the gear shifter remains as a urethane unit.

As standard, there’s a new 9.0-inch infotainment display. Seats are also fabric material; there’s no leather seats here. The Rhino has no additional inclusions inside the cabin.

Powertrain

As before, the 2026 Suzuki Jimny continues to be powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre K15B four-cylinder petrol engine that does 100 HP and 130 Nm, paired to a proven four-speed automatic transmission.

There’s also a part-time four-wheel drive system with low-range transfer box that give the Jimny its off-road prowess.
