Ford Malaysia has just updated the Ford Everest line-up in the country, introducing the Platinum and Sport variants here. This is the second launch event held at the ongoing 2026 Motor Expo by Sime, with the other launch being the updated 2026 BYD Atto 3.
Overview

Here, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford, the official distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia, introduced not one, not two, but three new Everest variants:
- 2026 Ford Everest Sport 2.0L: RM 316,888
- 2026 Ford Everest Platinum 2.0L: RM 348,888
- 2026 Ford Everest Platinum 3.0L: RM 430,888
Fully-imported (CBU) from Ford’s Rayong plant in Thailand, the new Everest variants add to the ever-growing line-up in the country.
This launch also marks the arrival of the Everest fitted with the 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 in Malaysia.
Exterior
Visually, the Everest Platinum retains what makes an Everest, an Everest. The Platinum variants raise that bar further by offering Matrix LED headlights – matching its Ranger Platinum stablemate.

Further separating the Platinum as being the flagship Everest variant includes black PLATINUM wording on the bonnet, front doors, and tailgate.
The Everest Sport offers reflector LED headlights, surrounding the signature Ford grille.

All updated 2026 variants of the Everest feature 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/55R20 tyres, albeit with varying designs. The Sport gets dark grey wheels, while the Platinum variants get sharp-looking dual-tone units.
Colour options for the Everest Platinum 3.0L include Absolute Black, Acacia Green, Meteor Grey; the Platinum 2.0L adds Arctic White to the mix.

The Everest Sport 2.0L, on the other hand, can be had in Absolute Black, Arctic White, Command Grey, and Lightning Blue. Yes, Command Grey that was exclusive to the Ranger Raptor can now be had on the Everest Sport.
Interior
Inside, the updated 2026 Ford Everest Sport 2.0L gets a new two-tone colour scheme.

Then there’s the Everest Platinum 2.0L, which offers embossed seats.
The top-spec Everest Platinum 3.0L mirrors the Ranger Platinum 3.0L by offering a 12-speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system.
Powertrain

Power for the 2026 Ford Everest Platinum 3.0L comes from a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 that pushes out 250 PS and 600 Nm, paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This flagship Everest variant also features the ElectroMagnetic Transfer Case (EMTC) full-time four-wheel (4WD) system.

The Everest Sport 2.0L and Everest Platinum 2.0L both share a 2.0-litre turbodiesel that pushes out 170 PS and 405 Nm, also mated to Ford’s signature 10-speed automatic transmission. This marks an upgrade over the previous model’s 6-speed automatic transmission.
While the 2.0-litre variants also feature 4WD, it is a different system – Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly (ESOF) part-time 4WD system.
